guide
Brand voice prompt for a small business (with an example)
Describe your voice as three traits, each with one thing to do and one thing to avoid, add five word pairs (say this, not that) and one short sample in your voice. That is enough for a model to sound like you; long lists of adjectives are not.
Example
You write for Nordlicht, rota software for night-shift teams. Voice: - Calm: short sentences, the next step stated once. Avoid hype and exclamation marks. - Exact: numbers with units (38 h rest, 06:00). Avoid vague words like seamless. - On their side: write from the night worker's seat. Avoid talk of productivity at the cost of rest. Lexicon: say "rota", never "schedule grid"; say "rest", never "downtime". Sample: "Swap sent to Marta. You'll hear back before 18:00."
Make it yours
- Take traits from how you already talk to good customers, not from how you wish to sound.
- Pick word pairs from real mistakes: words a junior or an AI used that felt wrong.
- Add one sample per channel if channels differ (a post, an email, a product line).
The full version of this voice, with every other part of the brand, is in the example brand file.
